Business+Impact at the Ross School of Business awards competitive grants for social impact summer internships to MBAs and BBA juniors in the Ross School of Business as well as graduate students in the Ford School of Public Policy. Awardees will serve in summer internships utilizing management skills in social impact organizations.

Summer Project Funding: Funding is also available for students that are not pursuing internships and desire to create their own social impact project to complete over the summer (ex. designing a summer consulting project with a nonprofit organization). Students should provide a clear and in-depth description of the project for Business+Impact to determine if funding is appropriate. If you have questions about whether your project is eligible, please write to businessimpact@umich.edu.

There are two deadlines to apply: Tuesday, Mar. 1 by 12pm EST and Friday, April 15 by 12pm EST. Award decisions will be made in two rounds after each of these dates and they are based on the level of need (taking into account other funding being received), consideration of the position and organization’s impact, and the quality of the application. Limited funding may be available after the deadlines.

Eligibility: Internships must be at least 10 weeks in length and total funding for graduate students (including B+I’s contribution) must not exceed $14,000. Total funding for BBA students (including B+I’s contribution) must not exceed $7,000.
