Being Black and Deaf Today Panel
April 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
There has been a noticeable increase in the interest to teach and learn American Sign Language among many populations in recent years. However, the people behind the language aren’t always given the spotlight. How much do you know about the various cultures of Deaf Americans? In this panel, we’re giving the spotlight to those at a specific intersection of being Black and Deaf by having three individuals share their stories, thoughts, and wisdom relating to a variety of topics. Join MESA and Spectrum in discussion with Neika White, Deidra Pelletier, and Virgil Moore.
As a bonus, all who attend will be entered into a drawing for a free 50th Anniversary Spectrum Center t-shirt!
