Join us for a book chat between author Jerry Davis and Michigan Ross/SEAS professor Andy Hoffman on Jerry’s examination of corporate power in the 21st century, and how to tame it.
Jerry Davis is the Gilbert and Ruth Whitaker Professor of Business Administration at the Ross School of Business and Professor of Sociology, The University of Michigan. Davis received his PhD from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. Davis’s research is broadly concerned with the corporation as a social and economic vehicle.
His newest book “Taming Corporate Power in the 21st Century” is focused on the new sources of corporate power in an economy built on information technologies, how fundamental categories like industry, nationality, and employment are being undermined, why the new anti-monopoly movement does not go far enough, and what comes next.
