Using Comics for “Real Talk” About What Women Face at Work

All too often, the “real talk” about the challenges that professional women face happens behind closed doors.  That makes it hard for women to make sense of their experiences and combat the barriers ahead, and even harder for allies across genders to partner together for equity.  In this interactive session, author and visual storyteller Melanie Ho will discuss the research behind her award-winning book Beyond Leaning In and give us a taste for how she uses comics to help workplaces across industries have more honest conversations about gender bias. We’ll learn how to design more equitable environments for professional women and discuss how allies across genders can work together for equity.
