The +Impact Studio is a collaboration space and an educational community passionate about design for impact. B+I: Academic/Executive Convenings

Academic/Executive Convenings enhance scientific research, upgrade the technological capabilities of industrial sectors in all countries and cut across boundaries to advance innovative practical solutions to society’s toughest social challenges.

Impact Advantage provides educational loan repayment assistance to full-time MBA graduates who pursue careers in nonprofit or public sector organizations.

Give-A-Day Fund is a program focused on providing financial assistance to students interning with social impact organizations. 

B+I Gordon Scholarships

B+I Gordon Scholarships are $7500 merit-based gifts to second-year Ross MBA students who are involved in social impact at Ross and plan on furthering their social impact work after graduation.

The +Impact Studio is a collaboration space and an educational community passionate about design for impact. It serves as a campus hub for design and impact. It also engages with community organizations and companies which seek to apply faculty insights and design tools to advance their impact and create new business.

A regular partner with B+I, Innovation in Action yearly creates student teams to explore complex challenges, engage with real stakeholders, and design people-first solutions.

InterMission

InterMission is a self-leadership course for students who are exceptional at fulfilling goals set by others but find themselves too busy to reflect on whether they’re the right thing to do. Intermission culminates with a one-week wilderness expedition in Utah’s Canyonlands.

MEG Consulting

MEG Consulting is a pro-bono consulting club that works with a variety of clients, including the University of Michigan and local and global businesses. Our projects have ranged in subjects from energy efficiency and autonomous vehicle research to business plan creation and marketing.

OTPR

A major objective of the Office of Tax Policy Research is to help countries, including developing countries, design tax systems that will facilitate economic growth and achieve distributional goals. As a multi-disciplinary center, this is achieved through collaborative research with others from around the world, publications, seminars, and conferences. 

Out for Business at Ross (OFB)

Out for Business at Ross (OFB) strives to accomplish three goals: to build community among the queer members of the Ross community, to provide professional development resources for our membership, and to raise awareness among all Ross faculty, staff, and students of the issues facing queer individuals in society.

The Paton Scholarship Fund was created in 1955 and is permanently endowed at the University of Michigan. The fund is guided by the Paton Advisory Board, which is comprised of alumni and a Ross faculty member. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Ross School of Business.

The Office of Tax Policy Research

The Office of Tax Policy Research serves as a liaison on tax issues among the academic, business, and policymaking tax communities. In addition, OTPR provides rigorous research to help inform the policy debate. 

Thomas C. Jones Undergraduate Innovation Initiative

Thomas C. Jones Undergraduate Innovation Initiative provides the Michigan Ross BBA program with resources to enable continuous enhancement and innovation. Since its inception in 2005, the Jones Initiative has paved the way for advancements that include additional undergraduate courses, the expansion of experiential learning opportunities, and the transition to a four-year program.

WDI: Consulting Projects around Energy focus on appropriate infrastructure and innovation. Out of necessity, rather than an intentional effort to have a positive environmental or social impact, innovations have been developed by low income communities to increase access to energy utilizing renewable sources such as solar and wind power.

WDI’s Education Sector partners with universities and organizations in emerging markets and advances their capacity to deliver world-class management education programs through training and consulting projects.

Weiser Center for Real Estate connects the next generation of real estate professionals with the tools necessary to make a positive and equitable impact on built environments 

Zell Lurie Commercialization Fund (ZLCF)

The Zell Lurie Commercialization Fund (ZLCF) is a student-run early-stage investment fund with the primary goal of identifying promising startups in the University of Michigan ecosystem and beyond focused on commercializing technologies across sectors including healthcare.

The Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies is leading the development of the next generation of serial entrepreneurs and venture investors. The Michigan Business Challenge (MBC) is a campus-wide business plan competition boasting over $100,000 in prizes. The Seigle Impact Track is for sustainability or social impact focused student-led ventures.

The Zell Lurie Institute’s innovative approach to experiential learning – combined with the Business School’s traditional management excellence – encourages and nurtures students exploring entrepreneurial careers to succeed, autonomously or in a corporate setting, as leaders of innovation for new venture creation and growth.

ZLI: The Midwest Growth Capital Symposium (MGCS)

The Midwest Growth Capital Symposium (MGCS) is an annual conference held in Michigan that showcases 40-60 Midwest companies and up and coming research being commercialized by the Big 10’s Universities. The MGCS connects these pre-selected high-growth start-ups with investors furthering economic development and job creation primarily in Michigan and the greater Midwest region.

ZLI: The Women Who Fund Forum uplifts and celebrates education, knowledge transfer, and networking while working to address gender disparities in the venture capital, private equity, and entrepreneurial communities.
