U-M’s engagement with Detroit has extended over two centuries, and the Michigan Ross commitment to Detroit has continued for over 30 years, a mission that inextricably links the campus with the City of Detroit.

The +Impact Studio is a home for those shaping ideas for a better world, and we believe we are all architects of the future. With the essential tools of design and business, powered by research insights, we can build a better world.

In collaboration with DNEP,  Business+Impact supports an initiative to provide Detroit entrepreneurs with the accounting and monetary services they need to successfully launch and grow their businesses. These businesses help to create jobs in the Southeast Michigan region and ultimately help the growing economy.

Michigan Ross students can now learn to confidently navigate a rapidly changing business world with a strong foundation in the environment, social impact, and corporate governance. And we are one of the first business schools in the country to offer an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Concentration.

Each summer, partners around the school provide competitive grants to students pursuing impact internships in the areas of social entrepreneurship, impact investing, and climate and sustainability.
