Accounting Magic: Securing Capital at JEI!
In today’s fiercely competitive business landscape, being “bankable” is essential, whether you seek traditional loans, venture capital, or alternative financing. Our Detroit workshop equips small business owners with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to attract investment and secure capital for growth.
This will be a hands-on, interactive workshop where accounting consultants will describe the 4 most popular types of capital available to small businesses–(1) grants (2) crowdfunding (3) lines of credit and (4) microloans– and then in small groups, walk through some sample applications together.
Business owners will learn:
- What’s involved in seeking out funding (including seeing what the apps look like
- How to think like a lender
- How to set up processes and habits to create a financially healthy business (especially important for solopreneurs!)
Business owners will leave with at least the beginning of an action plan for next steps. Additionally, DNEP offers free 1:1 accounting appointments with student accounting consultants at JEI every other Friday. After the workshop, attendees can sign up for however many 1:1 appointments they need to help them set up strong financial systems and apply for the funding they need.
Free Workshop – Registration required –Â Registration capped at 30 (food provided)
