As someone living, working or studying here in the great state of Michigan, have you heard the buzz about microplastics? These tiny particles enter our waterways through decisions we make each day. In urban watersheds – like in Ann Arbor – the clothes we buy and how we care for them has a big impact on local levels of microplastics in our rivers and streams.

Join this lunch and learn for a deep dive on “fiber shed” sources of microplastics, the researchers working on new solutions, and how individual choices can add up to a better future for our Great Lakes.

After the talk, there is an optional guided tour of a new Museum of Natural History exhibit focused on this topic from 1:00-2:00PM.
